It needs to be approved before completing this proposal (the Silver Award Manager will get the appropriate approvals after you send them your F-208).

Prerequisites
The Silver Award is an individual leadership award and, therefore, certain fields of this form require individual answers. Each member must share their individual answers to these sections in their own words.

Please note that if the content of these fields is the same across multiple Project Team members, the Silver Award Review Board will request to receive these individual answers resulting in a delay in the approval process.

In other words, do not copy and paste your Project Team's answers.

What is Girl Scouts looking for with the National Global link?
It is very common for everyone to think that the National/Global link means the respective review boards want to see how the girls are going to make their projects national or global. This is not the case. We hope that takes a lot of pressure off!

National/Global (N/G) Link: the intention of this category is to reflect on how you see the problem/issue on a national/global scale. Where else is it seen? Are there any similarities to how you see the local problem? Are there any differences? What, if any, are other people doing to solve the problem/issue for their area? Do they see any different root causes that they are addressing? Usually, it's just a simple google search and looking at different articles or websites and referring to their statistics and other information.

At the Bronze & Silver Award (and Cadette journey and below) level it is optional. So just going through the motions of the exercise is all that is needed (if that’s what they want to do). If a Silver Award proposal writer wants to share, she may in the optional field. They would give a sentence or two on what the Girl Scout/Group discovered. They may discover that their issue is not really National/Global-and that is ok at the Silver Award level.

We*—the Girl Scout Cadette(s), troop/group leader, and adult Girl Scout volunteer supervisor—agree and understand that the Silver Award Project:

• Cannot be just a collection or donation drive. Donations may be part of a larger Silver Award project.
• Cannot be a fundraiser for another organization, program, or individual.
• Is not simply volunteering time for another organization in an already existing project.
• Cannot be done by multiple teams. Only one team (1–4 Girl Scouts) may collaborate on each Silver Award project.
• Is a Take Action project, not a community service project—even if the community service project is very large and takes a lot of time and hard work.

I, Girl Scout Cadette, have read and understand all the requirements and guidelines specific to the Girl Scout Silver Award as outlined by the Cadette Workbook for Earning Your Silver Award and council-specific requirements.
